     Groton Township Fire Department conducted a "live burn" exercise that included members of Perkins Fire Department attending and instructing.  All facets of fire training were included in the training and the primary instructors, Firefighters Pflieger and Murphy from Perkins Fire Department done a excellent job in conducting a safe and educational training exercise.  Many of the firefighters commented on the "realistic training".  Groton Township Fire Department would like to "thank" the following agencies for participating.

LEFT: TWO GENERATIONS... Here, two generations of firefighting are shown.  On the left, Mike Pflieger, a Perkins Firefighter and his father Jim, a Groton Township Firefighter pose for a picture in front of the live burn structure.  Mike was one of the two primary instructors for the training.
RIGHT:  Here a Groton Township Firefighter views the
intensity of the live burn training between evolutions. 
Firefighters were rotated in 3 member teams so
everyone had the opportunity to get significant
training time in the structure, while also making sure
everyone was being properly hydrated and watched.

722 is utilized for the "live burn" exercise so the
primary Pump/Engine 721 would be available.
