Groton Township Fire Department was awarded it's third Assistance to Firefighters Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency/Office of Domestic Preparedness.  Past year's grants have allowed our department to purchase new "Jaws of Life" extrication equipment, Thermal Imaging Camera and all new handheld radios.  This year's grant allowed our department to replace our outdated Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (S.C.B.A.) that was no longer in NFPA regulatory compliance.  The new M.S.A. Self Contained Breathing Apparatus was put into service in March 2005.  So far, Groton Township Fire Department has been awarded in excess of $100,000.00 in federal grant money.  This effort has been accomplished thru the efforts of the department.
